Breastfeeding Help / Lactation Counseling
Breastfeeding can be an incredibly beautiful and powerful experience for parents: it facilitates a strong emotional bond between parents and baby; it makes you feel empowered as a parent; and it is fantastic for your baby’s health. However, breastfeeding can also be extremely frustrating. There is a definite learning curve when it comes to breastfeeding, and many parents experience lactation difficulties.
That’s where breastfeeding counseling comes in. A certified lactation counselor is trained to teach mothers how to feed their baby and help them with issues such as painful nursing, low milk production, and latching difficulties.
I am a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor. I received my certification from UC San Diego’s Lactation Educator Course, a nationally-recognized university program.
It’s important that you address your lactation concerns as soon as they arise.
And, as lactation issues can occur at all hours of the day or night, you need a lactation educator who you can consult with at any time during the day or night.
During the day, I will come to your home or hospital, or you can come to my office. During the evening or night, I can work with you by phone or by Skype; fee applies.
Services I provide:
Breastfeeding/lactation counseling available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Breastfeeding assessment and plan
Baby weight checks (without consultation); fee applies
Follow-up with your pediatrician
$200 for a 1–1 ½ hour consultation. Full payment expected at the time of service unless previously discussed with Michele.
$30 per 15-minute phone or video consultation. Full payment is expected at the time of service unless previously discussed with Michele.
$150 for a follow-up, in-person visit
A travel fee of $10 will be added for 25 miles outside of my immediate area.
Baby weight checks without a consultation: $25 fee
